This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
•
On a SharePoint Server 2007 page, you cannot specify a domain controller item
in the Master Forest Connection Settings section when you try to change the settings of an Active Directory Resource connection type. Additionally, you may receive the following
error message:
An error
occurred while validating or updating the directory service connection. No
connection was added.

On an Active Directory Resource connection, the Enable Server Side Incremental option is not retained. Additionally, you may receive the
following error message when you edit the connection that you
created:
An error occurred while validating or
updating the directory service connection. No update was
performed.
•
If an Alternate Access Mappings (AAM) function is used on
a server that is running SharePoint Server 2007, you may receive the following error message when you create
a key performance indicator (KPI) list:

An unexpected error has occurred.
Web Parts Maintenance Page: If you have permission, you can use this page to temporarily close Web Parts or remove personal settings. For more information, contact your site administrator.

You configure a team site to have zero search
visibility by using the Allow this web to appear in search results option. Additionally, you add a new user to the site collection administrators group. In this situation, blank search
results entries are displayed if a scheduled incremental crawl is completed on
a server that is running SharePoint Server 2007.
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
