Error message in System Center Operations Manager 2007 or in System Center Essentials 2007: "The setup wizard was interrupted before System Center Operations Manager 2007 could be installed" or "The client has been disconnected from the server"

Problem 1

You cannot install server roles or reporting components for System Center Operations Manager 2007 or for System Center Essentials 2007. Additionally, the following error message is returned by Windows Installer:

If the reporting feature that is required for System Center Essentials 2007 is installed, you may receive alerts that indicate that the report deployment failed. The report deployment process cannot request a management pack list from Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. The operation will be retried. The following message is an example of an alert:
