SYMPTOMS

When you try to run the "fix permissions" task against a remote share in Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007, you cannot add required permissions to the share.

Note The "fix permissions" task can be run from the crash listener view under the Agentless Exception monitoring folder in the Monitoring pane.

CAUSE

The "fix permissions" task fails when Agent Exception Monitoring (AEM) is configured to run under a low permission account and when the AEM file share is located on a remote computer.

Note The file share is not located on the management server on which AEM is enabled.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, add the client monitoring action account to the AEM Agent group on the remote computer that hosts the AEM file share.
