INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to manually configure the firewall or the static filter in order to modify the Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol (SSTP) port in Windows Server 2008.

MORE INFORMATION

Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.

In Windows Server 2008, you can change the HTTP listener port for SSTP connections by modifying the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Sstpsvc\Parameters\ListenerPort
Note You must have Administrator permissions to perform this operation.

This configuration is not supported by using the Routing and Remote Access tool or by using the netsh command tool. You must manually configure this port on the firewall. Similarly, if the static filter blocks this port, you must manually configure this port.
