Issue that the hotfix package fixes
This hotfix fixes the
following issue that is not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base
article:
You have a client computer that has multiple
versions of Microsoft Office installed. When you view a Web page on a Windows
SharePoint Server site that contains a SharePoint data list view, you may
receive the following error message:
A Windows SharePoint
Services compatible application could not be found to edit the
document.
The affected products are as follows:
| • | All Office 2003 programs |
| • | All 2007 Microsoft Office programs |
| • | All stand-alone versions of Office 2003 |
| • | All stand-alone versions of the 2007 Office
system |
This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
| • | Windows SharePoint Services Support features for 2007
Office system are installed. |
| • | Windows SharePoint Services Support features for Office
2003 are installed. |
This side-by-side installation may occur in one of the following
situations:
| • | You install the 2007 Office system, and then you install
one or more Office 2003 programs. |
| • | You install a 2007 Office program, and then you install
Office 2003. |
| • | You install Office 2003, and then you install one or more
2007 Office programs. |
| • | You install an Office 2003 program, and then you install
2007 Office system. |
| • | You install Office 2003, you install a 2007 Office program,
and then you repair the Office 2003 installation. |
