Consider the following scenario:

When you record broadcast TV in Windows Media Center in this scenario, you experience the following issues:
| • | Intermittent frame skipping |

These issues occur because of the presence of a particular version of the Avivo codec software. This version of the Avivo codec software is installed when you install the ATI Catalyst device driver.

To resolve these issues, follow these steps:
| 1. | Install the latest ATI Catalyst driver. To do this, visit the following AMD Web site: |
| 2. | Uninstall the Avivo codec software. To do this, follow these steps:| a. | Click Start , type programs in the Start Search box, and then click Programs and Features in the Programs list. | | b. | Select the Avivo codec software from the list of programs, and then click Uninstall. | | c. | Follow the instructions to uninstall the Avivo codec software. |
