SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You use Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2007 to back up a Microsoft SharePoint Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) site.
  • You try to recover a random file, such as https://site1, from this SharePoint site.
In this scenario, the recovery operation fails. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
The recovery jobs for SharePoint Farm <farm name> that started at <time and date>, with the destination of <destination name>, have completed. Most or all jobs failed to recover the requested data.

DPM was unable to export the item https://<site name>/<path>/<file name> from the recovery farm. (ID 32003 Details: Internal error code: 0x80990E14)

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Data Protection Manager 2007 does not parse SSL sites (https://) correctly. This causes the wrong path to be generated for the Web site.

RESOLUTION

This problem is now fixed in Data Protection Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1), which is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center. For more information about DPM 2007 Service Pack 1, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
