SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You are a delegate for a mailbox user. Additionally, you use Microsoft Office Outlook 2003. The mailbox owner enables the Delegate can see my private items option. After you upgrade to Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you cannot see the private items in the calendar.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the private item settings are stored in Unicode format in Outlook 2007. In earlier versions of Microsoft Office Outlook, the settings are stored as ANSI data. However the ANSI setting does not work in Outlook 2007.
