SYMPTOMS

When you go offline in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, the go offline process does not download a user record to the local Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE) database. This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • The user is in a child business unit.
  • The user has a role where the read permission on the User entity is at the Business Unit depth only.
Additionally, you cannot create the offline user interface because the SystemUser information is missing.
