This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
•
On a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site, you set the documents in the document library under the site collection to be invisible to searches. Then, you perform a full search for the documents on the site. When you do this, no documents are returned in the search results.
However, when you perform an incremental search for the documents, the documents are returned in the search results.
•
On a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site, when you try to save a modification to a list view in a Web Part in a personalized page, you receive the following error message:
404 not found
•
On a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site, you configure a workflow that has three states. When you do this, the state values in the Workflow states list are encoded in HTML.
For example, the following text is stored as one of the state values in the Workflow states list:
three is < than four
When this problem occurs, the text is displayed as follows:
three is < than four
•
On a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site, you edit a reply to a discussion item during the same minute that you create the reply. When you do this, the text in the body of the reply is not changed.
•
Consider the following scenario:
•
You configure a Windows SharePoint Service 3.0 farm with two Web front-end servers.
•
You create a Web application by using the SharePoint object model, such as a PowerShell script.
•
You run the Web application on a Web front-end server.
In this scenario, the Web application is not propagated on the other Web front-end server.
Note An issue may occur when you call the ProvisionGlobally method to create the Web application while you call this method to extend the application. In this issue, the second call fails if the timer job that was created by the first call has not finished.
To work around this issue, use one of the following procedures:
•
Do not call the ProvisionGlobally method continuously. Run the second call until you see that the first call has run successfully on all Web front-end servers.
•
Add a "try and catch" block to the second call. If you receive a SPDuplicateObjectException error, set the computer to sleep for a short time, and then retry.
The sleep time to set should equal the time that is required for the job to be picked up plus the time that is required to run the provision job. For the first call, this time should be zero to 15 seconds. For the second call, this time might be from seconds to minutes.
