Server 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1) that is dated September 2008. INTRODUCTIONThe changes that the update containsThe authentication protocol that is used by Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 and its clients has been updated to require a signature in all messages. This includes the first message that carries the challenge response. The version number of the protocol that is advertised in the challenge response has been increased to 2. Challenge responses that use version 2 of this protocol must contain a signature. The signature is a digest of the identifying headers in the message. The signature is calculated by using the session key.Additionally, to make sure that Communicator 2005 works effectively against this update, a hotfix for Communicator 2005 will be released soon.
