You cannot run the New-X400AuthoritativeDomain cmdlet successfully in an Exchange Server 2007 environment if an X.400 address contains a space character

SYMPTOMS

Starting with Microsoft Exchange Server 4.0, you can use a space character (a blank space) in the X.400 address of an administrative management domain (ADMD). For example, in the following X.400 address, there is a space that is acceptable between the equal sign (=) character and the semicolon character (;) in the "a= ;" part of this X.400 address:

"c=us;a= ;p=Exchange;o=Test;"

However, in Exchange Server 2007, a space character is not permitted in the X.400 address of an administrative management domain (ADMD). For example, you try to run the following X400AuthoritativeDomain cmdlet in the Exchange Management Shell.

New-X400AuthoritativeDomain -name "MyAddressSpace" -X400DomainName "c=us;a= ;p=Exchange;o=Test;"

When you do this, you receive the following error message:

New-X400AuthoritativeDomain : Cannot bind parameter 'X400DomainName'. Cannot convert value "c=gb;a= ;p=Exchange;o=Test;" to type "Microsoft.Exchange.Data.X400Domain". Error: "Invalid X.400 domain"
