SYMPTOMS

Symptom 1

In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, your user account is in a child business unit of a parent business unit. When you recieve an e-mail message from a user in the parent business unit, you cannot open the e-mail message.

Additionally, in the debug environment, you receive the following error message:
SecLib::AccessCheckEx failed. Returned hr = -2147187962., ObjectId: GUID
Note In this error message, GUID is a placeholder for the actual GUID.

This problem occurs even if you have a role whose Read permission for the Activity entity is set to Parent: Child Business Unit.

Symptom 2

In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, your user account has the User Read privilege on Activity. Additionally, your user account is an attendee on an appointment and appears as Required or Optional. You do not see the related appointment.

RESOLUTION
