SYMPTOMS

In an Exchange Server 2007 environment in which the Exchange ActiveSync Service (EAS) has been deployed, when you use the mobile device to download attachments by using EAS, the operations are recorded into the W3svc log file. Messages that are logged in this file resemble the following:
<Date> <Time> W3SVC1 <IP address> POST /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/default.eas User=<username>&DeviceId=<ID>&DeviceType=<type>&Cmd=ItemOperations&Log=V120_LdapC1_LdapL32_RpcC14_RpcL15_Ers1_Att2_Attb8_Pk800049531_ 80 <server>\<user> <><IP address> MSFT-PPC/5.2.200 200 0 0
Note The W3svc log files are saved in following folders:
drive\Windows\System32\LogFiles\W3SVCnumber\
In this message, the "Att" value reflects the number of attachments. In this scenario, the "Att" value should be 1. However, the log incorrectly reports the "Att" value as 2 (Att2).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, download Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1. Then, install the update on the Exchange server.
