Expand all | Collapse all

INTRODUCTION

This article discusses how to use Group Policy settings to administer Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP) enrollment in Microsoft Expression Design 2.

MORE INFORMATION

An IT administrator can use Group Policy settings to opt users into CEIP or to opt users out of CEIP for Expression Design 2. By using Group Policy settings in this manner, an IT administrator can prevent users from making or changing a choice about enrollment in CEIP. Additionally, an IT administrator can use Group Policy settings to override any choice the user has already made.

The Group Policy CEIP setting has the following registry settings on a user's computer:
  • Registry location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Expression\Design\d42a6360-e7c4-4958-86fa-b830a44c701a
  • Value name: QMEnable
  • Data type: REG_DWORD
  • Value data: 0 or 1
If the value is set to 1, users are opted into CEIP for Expression Design 2. If the value is set to 0, users are opted out. If the value or the subkey is missing from the registry, the Group Policy CEIP setting is not applied, and user choice is enabled and respected.
