You cannot perform a project-level file check-in operation when you use a Visual SourceSafe 2005-based Automation program that uses OLE technology
On This PageSYMPTOMSYou have a Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 2005-based Automation program that uses OLE technology. You use the Automation program to perform a project-level file check-in operation. However, the project files appear to check in without updating the file content or the file history. When you examine the file properties, you notice that the files are checked out exclusively. Note This problem only occurs for files that have been updated earlier in Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 6.0. CAUSEThis problem may occur because of a problem with the Auto-detect encoding of local file feature. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
