Note This update rollup provides a ModifyCustomerSite procedure in the provider namespaces for Managed SharePoint 2007 Namespace,
for Hosted SharePoint 2007 Namespace, and for SharePoint 2007 Provider.
You receive an error message if you try to create a site
that is larger than 4 GB.
The GetHostingOUPath_ procedure in the Managed Helpers namespace does not
exist.
A
supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended
to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this
hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix
might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected
by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that
contains this hotfix.

is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base
article. If this section does not appear, contact Microsoft Customer Service

before you apply this update.
Restart requirement
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this
update rollup.
Hotfix replacement information
This update does not replace a previously released
update.
Registry information
To use one of the updates in
this package, you do not have to make any changes to the
registry.
File information
This update rollup may not contain all the files that you must
have to fully update a product to the latest build. This update rollup contains
only the files that you must have to correct the issues that are listed in this
article.
The English version of this update rollup has the file
attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table.
The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time
(UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To
find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time
Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control
Panel.
To install this update rollup, follow these steps:
On the server that is running Microsoft Provisioning System (MPS),
stop the MPS services to make sure that no more requests can be performed on
the server. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, point to All
Programs, click Administrative Tools, and then click
Component Services.
Expand Component Services, expand
Computers, expand My Computer, expand
COM+ Applications, right-click Provisioning
Engine, click Disable, and then click Shut
down.
Uninstall old components. To do this, follow these steps:
Start the MPS Deployment Tool.
Expand Core Platform.
Expand Core MPF Install.
Right-click Managed Helpers, and then
click Uninstall.
Expand SharePoint Services
Hosting.
Right-click Hosted SharePoint, and
then click Uninstall.
Right-click Managed SharePoint, and
then click Uninstall.
Right-click SharePoint Provider, and
then click Uninstall.
Expand MPS Web Service, and then
expand Hosted SharePoint Web Service.
Right-click each server that is listed under
Hosted SharePoint Web Service, and then click
Uninstall.
Expand Managed SharePoint Web
Service.
Right-click each server that is listed under
Managed SharePoint Web Service, and then click
Uninstall.
Click Start Deployment.
Uninstall the Windows SharePoint Services Admin Web
service. To do this, follow these steps:
Log on to the server that is running Microsoft Windows SharePoint
Services.
In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove
Programs.
Click MPS SharePoint Provider Web Service Build
build_number, and then click
Remove.
When you are prompted to confirm the uninstallation,
click Yes.
Copy the new .msi files. To do this, follow these steps:
Open the MSIShare folder.
Note To do this, click File in the MPS Deployment
Tool, and then click File Locations to find the path for the
installer files.
Locate the following files in the MSIShare folder, and
then make a backup copy of them:
HostedSharePoint2007NS.msi
ManagedSharePoint2007NS.msi
SharePointProvider.msi
HostedSharePoint2007WS.msi
ManagedSharePoint2007WS.msi
ManagedHelpers.msi
WindowsSharePointServicesWebService.msi
Copy the new files from the update rollup to the
MSIShare folder.
Install the new components. To do this, follow these steps:
In the MPS Deployment Tool, expand Core MPF Install, right-click Managed Helpers, and then click Install.
Right-click SharePoint Services Hosting, and then click Install all in this group.
Right-click MPS Web Service, and then click Install all in this group.
Click Start Deployment.
Prepare the Windows SharePoint Services components. To do
this, follow these steps:
In the MPS Deployment Tool, expand Hosting
Platform, and then expand Initialize Default
Services.
Right-click Initialize Namespace
security, and then click Execute -> Initialize Namespace
Security.
Expand SharePoint Services
Hosting.
Right-click Initialize Hosted
SharePoint, and then click Execute -> Initialize Hosted
SharePoint.
Right-click SharePoint Initialize Namespace
Security, and then click Execute -> SharePoint Initialize
Namespace Security.
Click Start Deployment.
On the server that is running MPS, start the MPS services.
To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, point to All
Programs, click Administrative Tools, and then click
Component Services.
Expand Component Services, expand
Computers, expand My Computer, expand
COM+ Applications, right-click Provisioning
Engine, click Enable, and then click
Start.
Reinstall the Windows SharePoint Services Admin Web
service. To do this, follow these steps:
Log on to the server that is running Windows SharePoint
Services.
Copy the WindowsSharePointServicesWebService.msi file
from the MSIShare folder on the MPS server to a folder on the Windows
SharePoint Services server. (The WindowsSharePointServicesWebService.msi file
is the file that you copied to the folder in step 4.) Double-click the .msi
package to install the Web service.
Note Accept all default settings to install the Web
service.
At a command prompt, type
IISReset to restart Internet Information Services
(IIS).
Update the Web applications that are controlled by
SharePoint Central Administration. To do this, follow these steps:
On the MPS server, open the ModifyServiceAccountDirectoryPaths.xml file that is located in the following folder:
On the preferredDomainController node,
point to the domain controller that you use.
On the target node, point to the
SharePoint Central Administration Web site that you want to update.
On the serviceAccountDirectoryPaths
node, point to the distinguished name of the
administration container.
For example, point to CN=Users,DC=Fabrikam,DC=Com.
