Description of the update for Outlook 2007: July 8, 2008

INTRODUCTION

This update fixes the following issue:

When you create a new profile in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, the creation wizard disappears before the profile is created. If you try to create a new message, you receive the following error message:

A dialog box is open. Close it and try again.

Additionally, you cannot close Outlook, and you have to manually end the Outlook.exe process by using Task Manager. Outlook stops responding.

If you have already installed the Outlook 2007 update that is mentioned in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 950219, you do not have to install this update, and this update will not install successfully. The 950219 update contains this update, in addition to other changes.

Note When you install this update, you may encounter the following issue.

After you apply the update, you may not notice an issue with the icon. It seems that Outlook is constantly synchronizing the folders. Hovering with the pointer over the icon temporarily resolves the issue.
