Error message when you click the Refresh list button on a grid of a view in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0: "Order by columns do not match those in paging"Article ID: 952311 - View products that this article applies to. SYMPTOMSWhen
you click the Refresh list button on a grid of a
view that contains a custom picklist attribute in Microsoft Dynamics CRM
4.0,
you receive the following error message: Platform Error
===================================== Error Number: 0x80041129 Error Message: Order by columns do not match those in paging cookie. Error Details: Order by columns do not match those in paging cookie. Source File: Not available Line Number: Not available Request URL: http://URL Stack Trace Info: [CrmException: Order by columns do not match those in paging cookie.] at Microsoft.Crm.BusinessEntities.PagingHelper._AddRepeatFiltering(OrderExpressionCollection orderCollection, FilterExpression filterExpression, Hashtable orderNameValuePairs) at Microsoft.Crm.BusinessEntities.PagingHelper.AddPagingFilters(EntityExpression entityExpression) at Microsoft.Crm.BusinessEntities.QueryProcessObject.RetrieveDataQueryAsResultXml(EntityExpression entityExpression, QueryStrategyType strategyType, ExecutionContext context) at Microsoft.Crm.BusinessEntities.QueryProcessObject.RetrieveQueryAsResultXml(EntityExpression entityExpression, QueryStrategyType strategyType, ExecutionContext context) at Microsoft.Crm.ObjectModel.SavedQueryService.Execute(String fetchXml, ExecutionContext context) User Error ===================================== "An error has occurred. Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Community for solutions or contact your organization's Microsoft Dynamics CRM Administrator. Finally, you can contact Microsoft Support." CAUSEThis problem occurs because Microsoft Dynamics CRM compares an incorrect attribute name when Microsoft Dynamics CRM compares
the paging cookie of the grid to the query's order expression. For example, if
a picklist attribute exists that is named new_testpl, Microsoft Dynamics CRM compares the new_testplname attribute in the paging cookie and the new_testpl attribute in the query
expression. Because
the attribute
names are different, an exception occurs. RESOLUTIONThis problem is fixed in the latest cumulative update rollup for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
