SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You use the following relative date picker options to generate a report in Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007:
    • First day of previous month
    • Last day of previous month
  • You generate the report in a month that has fewer days than the previous month.
In this scenario, the Last day of previous month option that is generated by the report is not set to the correct date.

For example, assume that you run a report on September 16, 200x by selecting the First day of previous month option and the Last day of previous month option. In this case, the report returns only a range of 30 days from 08/01/200x to 08/30/200x. The report should return a range of 31 days as August actually has 31 days.

This hotfix is a distributed hotfix. It consists of two parts. The first part must be applied to each System Center Operations Manager Management Console role computer. The second part must be applied to the System Center Operations Manager Reporting Server.

The separate component hotfixes are supplied in the SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB952937.X86-X64.msi file. By default, when you run this .msi file, you extract and save the following two hotfix files to the "Program Files\System Center Hotfix Utility\Q952937" folder:
  • SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB952937-UI-X86-X64.msi
  • SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB952937-Reporting-X86-X64.msi
To extract the files that are contained in this hotfix, follow these steps:
  1. Copy the SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB952937-X86-X64-ENU.msi file to either a local folder or to a network shared folder.
  2. Run the SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB952937-X86-X64-ENU.msi file locally on each applicable computer that meets the predefined criteria.
Notes
  • You can run the SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB952937-X86-X64-ENU.msi file from Windows Explorer or at the command prompt.
  • The installation path is typically the following folder:
    Program Files\System Center Hotfix Utility\Q952937
The extracted SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB952937-UI-X86-X64.msi and SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB952937-Reporting-X86-X64.msi files contain the names of the Operations Manager roles to which they apply. The name of the Operations Manager role is either UI (the Operations Manager Console computers) or Reporting (the Operations Manager Report Server computer). Copy these files to computers that have the appropriate Operations Manager role.

To install the hotfix, follow these steps:
  1. On the Operations Manager Reporting Server role computer, run the SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB952937-Reporting-X86-X64.msi file, and then click Install in the Run Software Update from the System Center Operations Manager 2007 Software Update dialog box to install the hotfix.
  2. On each Operations Manager Administration Console role computer, run the SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB952937-UI-X86-X64.msi file, and then click Install in the Run Software Update from the System Center Operations Manager 2007 Software Update dialog box to install the hotfix.
