Note An in-place upgrade of a Windows Server 2003-based computer that is hosting a System Center Essentials 2007 Service Pack 1-based server to Windows Server 2008 is currently not supported. Assume that you perform an in-place upgrade to Windows Server 2008 from a Windows Server 2003-based system that supports Operations Manager 2007. In this case, you must install the Windows Server 2008 hotfixes immediately after the in-place upgrade. Required Windows Server 2008 hotfixesThe following hotfixes are available for Windows Server 2008 and must be installed on the computer.Note The hotfixes mentioned in this section are included in Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2. Note You must install the hotfix only after you upgrade to Windows Server 2008. The hotfix installation reregisters Operations Manager and Essentials performance counters on Windows Server 2008.
