FIX: A memory leak occurs in the Regsvc.exe file when you add ASP.NET counters from a remote server in your performance monitor in the .NET Framework 2.0

SYMPTOMS

When you add ASP.NET counters from a remote server in your performance monitor to monitor Microsoft ASP.NET applications remotely in the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, a memory leak occurs in the Regsvc.exe file. The memory leak is caused by the Aspnet_perf.dll file.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
