FIX: Memory usage by the Psxss.exe process continues to increase when you run new POSIX applications on a computer that has Windows Services for UNIX 3.5 installed

SYMPTOMS

You run new Portable Operating System Interface for UNIX (POSIX) applications on a computer that has Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX 3.5 installed. When you do this, memory usage by the Psxss.exe process continues to increase. Eventually, memory may be exhausted on the computer.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because a memory leak exists in the Psxss.exe process.

RESOLUTION
