You configure the DisableTemplatesOnTheWeb registry entry to make 2007 Office applications show the FileNew dialog box for the earlier versions of Office applications instead of for 2007 Office applications.
After you configure the DisableTemplatesOnTheWeb registry entry, the FileNew dialog box for the earlier versions of Office applications appears when you open the FileNew dialog box in a 2007 Office application. However, 2007 Office templates will also be listed in the FileNew dialog box. This is not expected behavior.
Note To open the FileNew dialog box in 2007 Office applications, click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click New.
