This article describes how Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 links the related records between the Inventory Settlement table and Inventory Transaction table. This knowledge is useful when you want to analyze cost adjustments and settlements that are made to inventory transactions.
The inventory closing routine, the inventory recalculations routine and the inventory adjustments routine create inventory settlement records that relate to inventory transaction records. Each settlement record that is created is linked to one specific inventory transaction record. The linkage between the Inventory Settlement table and Inventory Transaction table is made as follows:
Note The RecId field in the InventTrans table is hidden when you view the data in the Application Object Tree (AOT). However, this field is visible if you view the data in the InventTrans table in a Microsoft SQL Server database or an Oracle database directly.

As soon as you understand this linkage, you can track from each inventory transaction record in the InventTrans table to whatever inventory settlement records in the InventSettlement table that were made for the transaction. In reverse, you can also track from each inventory settlement record in the InventSettlement table to the inventory transaction record to which the settlement was made.
