A workflow is unexpectedly triggered when you update a record that has a duplicate record in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. You create a workflow that is triggered if an attribute that you specify is changed. Then, you create a duplicate detection job to check a duplicate record. Next, you update a record that has a duplicate record. In this scenario, the workflow is triggered even though the attribute that you specify in the workflow is not changed.

Additionally, if you save the record, the duplicate detection job runs. If the saved record has child records, the child records are reparented to the owner of the saved record.
