An update is available for the time zone and daylight saving time changes in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 and in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook

After you apply the August 2008 cumulative time zone update for Microsoft Windows operating systems, the following issues may occur when you run Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, depending on the time zone that you use.

Arabic Standard Time

Consider the following scenario.

• The time zone is set to "(GMT+03:00) Baghdad".
• You create two appointments.
• You change the time zone to "(GMT) Casablanca, Monrovia, Reykjavik".

In this scenario, the start date and the due date of the first appointment is scheduled one hour before the actual scheduled time.

Argentina Standard Time

Consider the following scenario.

• The time zone is set to "(GMT -03:00) Buenos Aires".
• You create two appointments.
• You change the time zone to "(GMT) Casablanca, Monrovia, Reykjavik".

In this scenario, the "(GMT -03:00) Buenos Aires" time zone no longer appears.

Pacific SA Standard Time

Consider the following scenario.

• The time zone is set to "(GMT-04:00) Santiago".
• You create four appointments.
• You change the time zone to "(GMT) Casablanca, Monrovia, Reykjavik".

In this scenario, the results are incorrect as follows:

• The start date of the first appointment is scheduled one hour after the actual scheduled time.
• The due date of the second appointment is scheduled one hour after the actual scheduled time.
• The due date of the third appointment is scheduled one hour before the actual scheduled time.
• The due date of the fourth appointment is scheduled one hour after the actual scheduled time.

Morocco Standard Time

Consider the following scenario.

• The time zone is set to "(GMT) Casablanca".
• You create two appointments.
• You change the time zone to "(GMT) Casablanca, Monrovia, Reykjavik".

In this scenario, the "(GMT) Casablanca" time zone no longer appears.

Pakistan Standard Time

Consider the following scenario.

• The time zone is set to "(GMT+05:00) Islamabad, Karachi".
• You create two appointments.
• You change the time zone to "(GMT) Casablanca, Monrovia, Reykjavik".

In this scenario, the "(GMT+05:00) Islamabad, Karachi" time zone no longer appears.

Venezuela Standard Time

Consider the following scenario.

• The time zone is set to "(GMT-04:30) Caracas".
• You create two appointments.
• You change the time zone to "(GMT) Casablanca, Monrovia, Reykjavik".

In this scenario, the "(GMT-04:30) Caracas" time zone no longer appears.

This problem occurs because the August 2008 cumulative time zone update for Microsoft Windows operating systems contains the following updates:

• Arabic Standard Time:
  Removes DST start dates and end dates for the Baghdad time zone for changes after the prior cumulative time zone update was created (December 2007).
• Argentina Standard Time:
  Adds a new time zone for the Argentina time zone that introduces DST start dates and end dates for changes after the prior cumulative time zone update was created (December 2007).
• Pacific SA Standard Time:
  Adjusts DST end dates for the Santiago time zone for changes after the prior cumulative time zone update was created (December 2007).
• Morocco Standard Time:
  Adds a new time zone for the Morocco time zone that introduces DST start dates and end dates for changes after the prior cumulative time zone update was created (December 2007).
• Pakistan Standard Time:
  Adds a new time zone for the Islamabad/Karachi time zone that introduces DST start dates and end dates for changes after the prior cumulative time zone update was created (December 2007).

This update also changes the following display names of the time zones in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Web client and in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook: Additionally, this update contains the following DST changes:

• Buenos Aires and Argentina:
  Changes DST.
• Iraq:
  Removes DST.
• Iran:
  Reinstates DST.
• Morocco:
  Moves to DST
• Pakistan:
  Implements DST in 2008
• Cairo:
  Changes DST end date
• Venezuela:
  Adds Venezuela Standard Time as "(GMT 04:30) Caracas". No DST is implemented in Venezuela.
  Changes SA Western Standard Time from "(GMT 04:00) Caracas, La Paz" to "(GMT) 04:00) La Paz".
