Known issues with this security update

• Microsoft SQL Server 2005 updates do not presume that you intend to enable an instance of SQL Server. By design, SQL Server updates do not enable an instance of SQL Server that is in a disabled state. Therefore, SQL Server updates leave the instance of SQL Server in the preupdate configuration state. To apply a SQL Server update to an instance of SQL Server, you must enable the instance.
