Article ID: 954640 - Last Review: February 12, 2009 - Revision: 2.0 A folder that does not have a name appears in the Parent field when you open the Address form in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0
SYMPTOMSYou add the parentid attribute to the Address form in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. You use this attribute to link to the parent record. However, when you open the Address form, a link to the parent record does not appear in the Parent field. Instead, a folder that does not have a name appears in the Parent field. CAUSEThis problem occurs because some mappings that correspond to the relationships between entities are invoked to transform a record into another record. This occurs when the record is created from a contact or from an account. However, the CustomerAddress entity obtains the data from the querystring variable in the CustomerAddress form instead of from the record of the transformed entity. RESOLUTIONThis problem is fixed in the latest cumulative update rollup for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.
