INTRODUCTION

The FarmInfo rule in Pre-Upgrade Checker for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) provides information about a farm.

When you run Pre-Upgrade Checker, this rule lists the version of the code that is running, the number of servers, the number of Web applications, the number of content databases (total megabytes), and the number of site collections that are in the current farm. The following is an example of the message that you receive:

The components from this farm
The SharePoint Products and Technologies based software currently running on this farm is binary build version number. The farm contains the following components:
Number of Servers servers
Number of Web Applications web applications
Number of Content Databases content databases, approximate total size = Total Size of Databases bytes
Number of Site Collections Site collections

Note Pre-Upgrade Checker ships in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 SP2. It is used to assess the server for potential upgrade issues when you try to upgrade to the next version release that supersedes Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.
