INTRODUCTION

The ReadOnlyDatabase rule in Pre-Upgrade Checker for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) scans the databases and then reports any databases that are set to read-only.

MORE INFORMATION

The output of this rule resembles the following:
The following databases are set to read only and cannot be upgraded:
[ForEach Database]
[Database Name]
The read-only state of a database must be set to False when you try to upgrade to the next version release that supersedes Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In SQL Server Management Studio, right-click the database name, and then click Properties.
  2. On the Options tab, click the drop-down list on the right side of the Database Read-Only field to select False.
Note Pre-Upgrade Checker ships in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 SP2. It is used to assess the server for potential upgrade issues when you try to upgrade to the next version release that supersedes Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Server 2007.
