E-mail messages are not sent when you are running Forefront Security for Exchange Server Service Pack 1

SYMPTOMS

When you are running Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server Service Pack 1 on a computer, you may experience the following symptoms:
  • E-mail messages are not sent.
  • The FSEMailPickup.exe process uses up to 2 gigabytes (GB) of virtual memory.
  • The physical memory that is available decreases.
Note You can monitor memory usage in Windows Task Manager. If you stop the FSEMailPickup service in the Services snap-in, e-mail messages are sent, and virtual memory usage decreases.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, you must install Hotfix Rollup 3 for Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server Service Pack 1. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Note Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server Service Pack 1 must be installed before you install this hotfix rollup.
