You receive an error message when you try to install an Easy Assist session while you are running Windows in safe mode with networking

You are trying to install and join a Microsoft Easy Assist session with help from a Support Professional. However, if you do this while you are running Windows in safe mode with networking, you receive the following error message: Note Easy Assist is a support feature of Microsoft Office Live Meeting.

This issue occurs in all versions of Windows. The Windows operating system does not support the installation of any software while the computer is in safe mode.

To work around this issue, download the Easy Assist Safe Mode Installation package to your computer.

To install the package and join an Easy Assist session, follow these steps:

1. Double-click EasyAssist-SafeModePackage.exe to start the extraction process.
2. Choose a location on your computer to extract the required files. For example, create a new folder on your desktop that is named "EasyAssist," and then extract the files to this folder.
3. After the files have been extracted, locate and then double-click the SupportConsole.exe. file.
4. Enter your information and the meeting details for the Easy Assist session. (The Support Professional can give you the Session ID, Entry Code, and Location information.)
5. Click Join to join the session.
