INTRODUCTION

You can configure the Network Connector feature in Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) to use multiple DNS suffixes. This configuration minimizes the need for Network Connector users to enter fully qualified domain names (FQDNs) when they access internal hosts.

To configure Network Connector to use multiple DNS suffixes, use one of the following methods, as appropriate for your situation.

To add a single additional DNS suffix

If you want to add only one additional suffix, follow these steps:

On the server that is running IAG, open the IAG Configuration console. To do this, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Whale Communications IAG, and then click Configuration.
On the Admin menu, click Network Connector Server.
On the Network Segment tab, type the DNS suffix that you want to add in the DNS Suffix box, and then click OK.
On the File menu, click Activate.
Click Activate to confirm the activation operation, and then click OK.

To add multiple additional DNS suffixes

If you want to add multiple DNS suffixes, you can configure the DNS suffixes in the TCP/IP settings on the internal network adapter. To do this, follow these steps:

On the server that is running IAG, click Start, point to Control Panel, and then click Network Connections.
Right-click the network adapter for the internal network, and then click Properties.
In the This connection uses the following items list, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
On the General tab, click Advanced.
On the DNS tab, click Append these DNS suffixes (in order), and then click Add to add the DNS suffixes that you want.
Click OK three times.
