How to use the Whlbackup command to restore an IAG backup

INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to use the Whlbackup command to restore a Microsoft Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) backup.

Before you use the Whlbackup command to restore an IAG backup, make sure that the following statements are true:
  • The .cab file has the following name:
    whlbackup.computername.cab
    Note In this case, computername represents the current host name.
  • The current version of IAG matches the version of IAG that was used when the backup was created.
To restore the IAG backup, follow these steps.

Note You must close the IAG configuration console before you start to restore the backup.
  1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
  2. If the .cab file is in the Drive:\Whale-Com\e-Gap folder, type the following line at the command prompt, and then press ENTER:
    whlbackup -r
    If the .cab file is not in the Drive:\Whale-Com\e-Gap folder, type the following line at the command prompt, and then press ENTER:
    whlbackup -r --file Full path of the backup file\whlbackup.%COMPUTERNAME%.cab
  3. Start the IAG configuration console, click File, and then click Activate.
