SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Exchange 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Outlook Web Access (OWA) to delete an e-mail message or a calendar entry that was published by an Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) server, you receive an OWA permissions error. Additionally, the IAG filter log contains a message that resembles the following:
502 Bad Gateway
Copying items between servers, or between public folders and Exchange mailbox folders, isn't allowed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, verify the following settings in the OWA publishing application:
  • Server Name Translation options are selected.
  • There should be no Server Name Translation rules.
  • The Public Hostname field should be the Domain Name System (DNS) name that resolves to the external server on the Internet.

APPLIES TO
  • Intelligent Application Gateway 2007
  • Whale Communications Intelligent Application Gateway 3.6
