How to configure server access credentials for authentication against a Novell directory

  1. Open the IAG Configuration console. To do this, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Whale Communications IAG, and then click Configuration.
  2. On the Admin menu, click Authentication and User/Group Servers.
  3. Click Add, or double-click an existing Novell authentication server item.
  4. In the Type list, select Novell Directory.
  5. In the Server Access Credential section, type a user name in the User box.
When you specify the user name in the Server Access Credential section, use the following format:
cn=user,o=context
Note The user placeholder represents the user name. The context placeholder represents the context in which the user is located. For example, you can use the following string to represent the user account:
cn=john,ou=support,o=contoso
Note In this example, the user is located in a Support organizational unit (OU). However, an organizational unit is not always necessary. Depending on your directory hierarchy, you may not have to specify an organizational unit.

  5. On the Novell Logon page, specify the user name and the password that you want to use to access the Novell Netware servers.
When you specify the user name, use the following format:
.user.context@tree
Note The user placeholder represents the user name. The context placeholder represents the context in which the user is located. The tree placeholder represents the Novell directory tree to which the user belongs. For example, you can use the following string to represent the user account:
.john.support@contoso
Note In this example, the user is located in a Support organizational unit (OU). However, an organizational unit is not always necessary. Depending on your directory hierarchy, you may not have to specify an organizational unit.
