How to back up and restore the registry in Windows SYMPTOMSIn Whale Communications Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 3.6 or
in Microsoft IAG 2007, an Error event that resembles the following is logged in the IAG Event Monitor: DATETIME: [Type] HTTP [Trunk] ProductionPortal [Msg] Security Request Failed [URL] / [Method] GET [Host] [Info] Headers size (xxxx) is too long. Note In this Error event, the DATE placeholder and the TIME placeholder represent the actual date and time. The xxxx placeholder represents the actual size of the HTTP headers. For example, if you customize an application to use HTTP headers, and the header size is 5683 bytes, the Error event will state "Headers size (5683) is too long." Additionally, the value of the MaxAllHeadersLen property will be set to 5683. CAUSEThis issue occurs because IAG limits the maximum size for all HTTP headers in a single HTTP Request or HTTP Response. By default, the maximum size for HTTP headers is 4096 bytes. RESOLUTIONWarning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk. To resolve this issue, add a registry entry and then configure it rto modify the MaxAllHeadersLen property. To do this, follow these steps:
