SYMPTOMS

When you try to merge two accounts that are both added to an inactive marketing list in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
The merge is cancelled, contact your systems administrator and try again.
If you then make the marketing list active, the merge is successful.

RESOLUTION
