INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

This hotfix fixes the following issues that are not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you try to open a Word 2007 document that contains a link to a Microsoft Excel chart object from a document library on a SharePoint site, Word 2007 may stop responding.
  • In Word 2007 with Service Pack 1, when you try to perform a search in a document, Word 2007 may run in an infinite loop until you press ESC.

This problem may occur if one of the following conditions is true:
    • You open a text file and then perform the first search for a string that contains the following special search code:
      ^p
Note ^p is the special search code for the paragraph mark
    • You open a text file and then search for a string that contains the special search code ^p. After the last occurrence of the string that contains this special search code is found, Word 2007 should start the search again from the beginning of the text file. However, after the search finds the last occurrence of the string, Word 2007 enters into an infinite loop.
    • You search for text in an Arabic-language document that contains a kashida character that is not preceded by any letter. Additionally, the text that you search for is not contained in the document, or the text that you search for only occurs after the kashida character.
  • On a client computer that has the 2007 Microsoft Office suite Service Pack 1 installed, you specify Hebrew as the enabled editing language for all Microsoft Office programs. In this case, Outlook 2007 may stop responding when you try to open a Hebrew language meeting request.
