FIX: The IP address is reversed in a diagnostic log event when you use the Traffic Simulator feature to test a Web publishing rule in ISA Server 2006 with Service Pack 1

Expand all | Collapse all

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • In Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006, you configure a Web publishing rule.
  • The Web publishing rule uses a Web listener that listens on an IP address. For example, the Web listener listens on 192.168.0.1.
  • You use the Traffic Simulator feature that is introduced in ISA Server 2006 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) to test the Web publishing rule.
  • In the Destination Parameters section of the Traffic Simulator page, you enter the URL for that IP address. For example, you enter http://192.168.0.1.
  • After you get the simulation results, you click View Log.
In this scenario, you may find that the diagnostic log includes an event that displays the IP address in the reverse order. For example, the incorrect log event resembles the following:
The listener on the IP address "1.0.168.192" accepted the request
