SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You are running Microsoft SQL Server 2008 on a Windows Server 2003 Itanium-based computer.
  • You try to deploy a SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) package that contains a Script task or a Script component.
However, the SSIS package does not run as expected.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when one of the following conditions is true:
  • The Script task or the Script component contains a script that is configured to target the .NET Framework 3.5.
  • The Script task or the Script component contains a script that uses functionality that is specific to the .NET Framework 3.5.

RESOLUTION

There is currently no resolution or workaround for this problem.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
