INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that are not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In Word 2007, you open a binary .doc document from a document library on a Windows SharePoint Services site. You open the document as a read-only document.
    • Later, you check out the document from the library, and then you use Word 2007 to change the document.
In this scenario, when you try to check in the document for the first time, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:
http:// site name/sites/shared Documents/file name cannot be accessed. The file may not exist, may be in use, or the web server is temporarily busy.
  • In Word 2007, random numbers appear unexpectedly in the AutoText name list of the AutoText field in the Field dialog box.
  • E-mail messages that are in HTML format and that are displayed correctly in Office Outlook 2003 may not be displayed as expected in Outlook 2007.

This issue occurs when the e-mail messages use a CSS property that is not supported by the HTML rendering engine for Outlook 2007.
  • When you type Korean characters in a Word 2007 document, characters are not inserted as expected if a macro is running in the document.

This issue may occur when the macro uses one or more of the following methods or properties in the Word object model:
    Paragraph.LeftIndent
    Paragraph.FirstLineIndent
    Range.Orientation

    Range.HighlightColorIndex
    Range.Information(wdHorizontalPositionRelativeToTextBoundary)
    Range.Information(wdHorizontalPositionRelativeToPage)
    Range.Information(wdVerticalPositionRelativeToPage)
    PageSetup.LeftMargin
    Range.PageSetup.DifferentFirstPageHeaderFooter
    Range.Font.AllCaps
    Range.Font.Bold
    Range.Font.Color
    Range.Font.DoubleStrikeThrough
    Range.Font.Emboss
    Range.Font.Engrave
    Range.Font.Hidden
    Range.Font.Italic
    Range.Font.Name
    Range.Font.Outline
    Range.Font.Size
    Range.Font.SmallCaps
    Range.Font.StrikeThrough
    Range.Font.Subscript
    Range.Font.Superscript
    Range.Font.Underline
    Range.Font.UnderlineColor
    Range.Paragraphs(1).DropCap.Position
    Range.Orientation
    Range.Revisions.Count
    Range.Shading.BackgroundPatternColor
    Range.Shading.ForegroundPatternColor
    Selection.Range.Shading.Texture
    Selection.Range.SpellingErrors.Count
    Selection.Range.Style
    ActiveWindow.Selection.Range.Paragraphs.LeftIndent
    ActiveWindow.Selection.Range.Font.Underline

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In a Word 2007 (.docx) file, you enter several lines of text and several equations in a paragraph.
    • You format the paragraph by using a style that indents the first line of the paragraph.

Note By default, the first line of the paragraph is indented 1.25 centimeters.
    • You save the .docx file as a .doc file.
In this scenario, when you open the .doc file, the equations in the paragraph also have an indentation of 1.25 centimeters, and the right side of the equations may be missing.
  • You have a Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) control that uses the PX_PATH property to persist a data source object from a control in a Word 2007 document. If the Word document is saved in the Office Open XML document format (.docx), the data source object may be unavailable when the control is displayed in the Word document.

Note This problem does not occur when the Word document is saved in binary format (.doc or .mht).
  • You set Arabic as the primary editing language for Office programs. In this case, the Arabic text is displayed unexpectedly from left to right in Word 2007 and in Outlook 2007.
  • In a Word 2007 document, you copy an Office Excel chart object, and then you use the Paste Special command to link it to a Worksheet object. Then, you change the update method for the linked Worksheet object from Automatic update to Manual update. In this case, the patterns of the linked Worksheet object change when you set the update method to Manual update.
  • In Word 2007, you cannot save changes to a Word template if the Word template resides on a network share and if the template contains a macro. This issue occurs even if you have full permissions to the network share.
  • In Outlook 2007, you try to attach many files to an e-mail message by selecting the files that you want to attach in the Insert File dialog box. When you to do this, some files may not be attached to the e-mail message. Additionally, there is no warning that some files are not attached.
This hotfix package also fixes the following issue:
  • 956629 Hebrew text that is formatted as Justified becomes right-aligned when you save a Word 2007 document in the PDF file format or the XPS file format
