INTRODUCTION

The ModifiedWebConfigWorkflowAuthorizedTypes rule in Pre-Upgrade Checker can warn that Web.config files contain modified authorized types for workflow.

Web.config files contain modified authorized types for workflow. The upgrade will replace these files with new versions, and all modifications will be lost. Declarative workflows that execute a new authorized type will fail. Authorized types that were manually disabled will be enabled. Here is a sample of the warning message:
The following files will be replaced:
<servername><location of files>
Important We recommend that you track modifications in these files and reapply them after you upgrade.

Note The Pre-Upgrade Checker ships in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 and is used to assess the server for potential upgrade issues when you are preparing to upgrade to the next version release of Windows SharePoint Services and of SharePoint Server 2007.
