Article ID: 956527 - Last Review: February 13, 2009 - Revision: 3.1 The Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook consumes three times as much memory in version 4.0 as in version 3.0SYMPTOMSAfter you upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook version 4.0, the Windows Terminal Services or Citrix deployment cannot host as many CRM users as you could in Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook version 3.0. This problem occurs even though you are using the same hardware. Additionally, each hosted CRM user consumes about 200 megabytes (MB) of memory in Microsoft Dynamics 4.0 (50 MB for the Add-in with Outlook and another 150 MB for the Hoster process). However, in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, the memory footprint for the Outlook Add-in is about 50 MB. RESOLUTIONThis problem is fixed in the latest cumulative update rollup for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.
