This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

PerformancePoint Server 2007 Planning issue

You create design-time formulas in forms or in reports in PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel. After you install Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1), these design-time formulas disappear.

Important This hotfix prevents this problem from recurring. However, you must republish any form templates that were published from a report that uses design-time formulas. Otherwise, the design-time formulas will not appear in assignments that use the form template.

Note If you resave reports that use design-time formulas after you apply those formulas, the reports may open faster.

PerformancePoint Server 2007 Monitoring and Analytics issue

Consider the following scenario:

• You configure SQL Server Reporting Services to run in SharePoint Integrated mode.
• You publish a report that contains parameters to the Report Server.
• In PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer, you create a SQL Server Report that links to the report on the Report Server.

In this scenario, the report parameters do not appear in the Report Parameters section.

Important notes about this hotfix package

• We recommend that you back up all PerformancePoint Server 2007 databases before you apply this hotfix package.
• You can roll back PerformancePoint Server 2007 to an earlier version. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In the Add or Remove Programs feature in Control Panel, click to select the Show updates check box.
  2. Click the hotfix that you want to remove, and then click Remove.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Prerequisites

The following list contains prerequisites for the hotfix:

• The release version of PerformancePoint Server 2007 that has a build number of 3.0.3520.00 or a later build number must be installed.
  
  Note You must apply this hotfix to all client computers and servers that have the affected component of PerformancePoint Server 2007 installed.
• You must run the following PerformancePoint Planning installation files, as appropriate for your situation:
  • The Planning Server Pplsrv.msp installation file
    (Install this file only on the Planning server.)
  • The Planning Excel Client Pplxcli.msp installation file
    (Install this file on all client computers that are running the PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel.)
  • The Planning Business Modeler Pbmcli.msp installation file

How to obtain the build information for PerformancePoint Planning Server

The build number for PerformancePoint Planning Server is the same as the build number for Planning Business Modeler and for the PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel. To obtain the build number for PerformancePoint Planning Server, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Obtain the build information for Planning Business Modeler

1. In Planning Business Modeler, click About Planning Business Modeler on the Help menu.
2. In the About Planning Business Modeler dialog box, locate the version number of Planning Business Modeler.

Method 2: Obtain the build information for the PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel

1. In Microsoft Office Excel 2007, click the PerformancePoint tab.
2. On the PerformancePoint tab, click About in the Help group.
3. In the About PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel dialog box, locate the version number of the PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel.

How to obtain the build information for PerformancePoint Monitoring Server

The build number for PerformancePoint Monitoring Server is the same as the build number for PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer. To obtain the build of PerformancePoint Monitoring Server, follow these steps:

1. In PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer, click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Options.
2. In the Options dialog box, click the Resources tab.
3. On the Resources tab, locate the number after File Version.

Hotfix installation information

After you apply this hotfix, you must run the QFEAppDBUpdate1.sql file against each Planning Server application database that is hosted by SQL Server.

Restart information

You must restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

Hotfix replacement information

This hotfix replaces all previously released versions of PerformancePoint Server 2007.

Registry information

To use one of the hotfixes in this package, you do not have to make any changes to the registry.

File information

This hotfix may not contain all the files that you must have to fully update a product to the latest build. This hotfix contains only the files that you must have to correct the issues that are listed in this article.

The global version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
