A Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) client cannot handle files that have paths that contain the volume GUID in Windows Server 2008 or in Windows Vista
Support for Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) ends on July 12, 2011. To continue receiving security updates for Windows, make sure you're running Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 (SP2). For more information, refer to this Microsoft web page: Support is ending for some versions of Windows
You create a volume on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista
. This volume does not have a drive letter or a mount point.
The unique access method is the
volume's GUID.
You try to download one or more files from a Background
Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) server to this volume. Or, you try to upload
one or more files from this volume to a BITS server.
In this scenario, the BITS client cannot download
or upload the files.
