INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that are not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you use Outlook 2007 to send an HTML form that contains text data, the text data is missing when the recipients open the e-mail message. The recipients see a blank text box where the text data should be displayed.

Note The most common ways to use Outlook 2007 to send an HTML form are as follows:
    • In an HTML Web page that has a form, use the Send Page by E-mail command on the File menu to create an Outlook 2007 e-mail message that contains the form data.
    • Copy and paste the form data from the HTML Web page into an Outlook 2007 e-mail message.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In Word 2007, you create a new Word document.
    • You use document protection so that users can only enter data into the form.
    • You assign a password to the document so that only users who know the password can remove the protection.
    • You save the Word document as a Word template (*.dotx) or as a Word macro-enabled template (*.dotm) to the templates folder for Word 2007.
    • You create a new Word document based on the template.
In this scenario, the protection can be removed successfully without a prompt for the password when you try to remove the document protection for the new document.
This hotfix package also fixes the following issues:
  • 956937 When you open a Word 2007 document that is protected by a password on a network share, the document is opened as read-only
  • 956745 The settings in the .msp file are not applied to Word 2007 if you start Outlook 2007 before you start Word 2007
