This hotfix fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • Consider the following scenario. You have an .xlsm file that contains a macro. The macro formats the data in the file when you open the .xlsm file. However, if you open the .xlsm file in Excel 2003, the macro does not run. Additionally, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
    Run-time error '-2147417848 (80010108)
    Automation error
The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.

  • In Excel 2003, you may receive errors when you use Microsoft Visual C# or Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to access the data range of a PivotTable.
  • You have an Excel 2000 workbook or an Excel 2002 workbook that connects to a .dbf file by using the DSUM function. You open this workbook in Excel 2003. When you click Open Source to update the source file, Excel 2003 crashes.
