SYMPTOMS

When you publish a large test result that is generated by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team System Test to a Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2005 server, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:
<servername>@<username> 2008-07-25 16:01:25 18,37 MB 10/21/2008 16:21:50 Failed Unable to convert the test results file to a Visual Studio 2005 format prior to server upload. Failed to upload test run results to the drop location '\\DropShare\DropLocation'. Ask your server administrator to make the drop location available.
Note The size of test result is approximately 18 MB or larger. For example, the file size that is mentioned in the error message is "18,37 MB."

CAUSE

To publish test results that are generated by using Visual Studio 2008 Team System Test 2008 to a Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2005 server, the test results must be converted to a version for Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2005. The conversion occurs in the memory. If test file is too big, an out-of-memory error is triggered.
